NewKernel is the attempt to upgrade the NT kernel base by including modern kernel principles as well as adding a compatibility layer that allows to run apps from other operating systems. It includes 50% of OpenKernel as well as newer stuff like ELF integration, etc.
Folder Structure
Both NewKernel and OpenKernel have their own directories like newkernel\
and openkernel\
. Some OpenKernel stuff would be in newkernel\op
, but it's subject to change in newer releases. As of now, NewKernel and OpenKernel have appeared in the newest vNext reboot as well as new quality-of-life fixes.
